Are you following the NEW OSHA Fall Protection Rules? Did you know that non-compliance could cost you up to $70,000 or more for each offense. Very recent reports have indicated that OSHA inspectors just issued fines of $10,000 - $40,000 in Blount County.
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), in conjunction with the NAHB Research Center, has developed a 4 hour seminar for builders, trade contractors, supervisors and workers. This training program focuses on identifying fall hazards in residential construction, as well as providing student attendees an understanding of the OSHA fall protection regulations and safe work practices to prevent fall-related injuries and deaths. Special emphasis is placed on how to develop a written fall protection plan, how to protect stairways, leading edges, window/wall openings and floor holes, how to use a Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS), and how to safely construct rafters and install roof trusses and sheathing.
Check in is at 8:30 am. The class starts promptly at 9:00 am and will take approximately 4 hrs plus time for questions and answers. This class is recommended for EVERYONE who works above 6 feet including framers, roofers, plumbers, electricians, gutter installers, etc.
The fee is only $10 for both members and non-members, snacks and drinks will be provided. Advance registration and pre-payment is required.
