The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) is requesting that construction companies participate in a National Safety Stand-Down between June 2-6, 2014 to raise awareness about fall hazards on the job. Falls from elevations continue to be the number one cause of death for residential construction workers and NAHB's data for home building shows that the leading causes are falls from roofs, ladders, and scaffolding.
The National Safety Stand-Down is a voluntary event that encourages employers and workers throughout the country to pause their workday to talk about fall hazards and to reinforce the importance of fall protection.
