BUILD-PAC Fundraiser with Special Guest Congressman John Duncan
Dear Members:
We are honored to announce that Congressman John J. Duncan has agreed to attend our BUILD-PAC fundraiser at Fox Den!!
As your 2012 Tennessee BUILD-PAC Trustee, I am committed to building and promoting the importance of our local industry agenda at the national level by supporting the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Political Action Committee, BUILD-PAC – or Builders United in Legislative Decisions Political Action Committee.
One of my requirements as a BUILD-PAC Trustee is to hold at least one fundraising event each year to promote and educate my peers on the importance of contributing to BUILD-PAC. That said, you all should have received an email invitation to a cocktail reception benefitting NAHB’s BUILD-PAC Wednesday, October 24, from 5:30-7:30 pm at Fox Den Country Club, and I am counting on each of you to attend.
Now, more than any other time in the history of our industry is it vitally important that we financially support pro-housing candidates in Congress, on both sides of the aisle, who continue to make our industry issues a priority leading up to the November elections and beyond. These candidates recognize that 1) homeownership is a fundamental part of our nation’s foundation, and 2) homebuilding is critical to strengthening our nation’s economy moving forward.
BUILD-PAC’s fundraising goal for the 2011-2012 election cycle is $2.1 million. To date, BUILD-PAC has raised $1.9 million. Achieving this goal is no small feat, and without the support of members like you, we could not continue to promote issues such as tax reform, the mortgage interest deduction, construction lending, and housing finance reform at the federal level.
With the elections being right around the corner, it is more important than ever that we make our voices heard – and reach our election cycle goal – by investing in BUILD-PAC this year. I, myself, am a Gold Key member contributing $1,000 annually to BUILD-PAC and its efforts. While economic times are tough, everyone can afford to give something to support our industry and I am counting on each and every one of you to make that commitment today.
For those of you who have contributed to BUILD-PAC this year, thank you! For those of you who have not, please consider attending the event on October 24th and making our industry’s voice stronger not only in Washington, DC, but also here in Tennessee.
