Stephen Davis was born in Searcy, Arkansas, where he attended Harding University as an art major. After college, Stephen followed his own love of music and pursued a career in blues and folk in Memphis and Houston. While evenings were spent performing, by day he worked in lumber and hardware, and as a roofer and carpenter. That experience in building materials and home construction would later prove invaluable.
In 1981 Davis moved to Northwest Arkansas and worked for two civil engineering firms and a manufacturer of extruded aluminum curtain walls before finding his true calling in home design with Cooper Communities in Bella Vista, Arkansas.
In 1990, Davis moved to the Knoxville area and founded Stephen Davis Home Designs. His work has infiltrated Knoxville’s affluent neighborhoods because of his technical knowledge of construction and his innate creativity in executing detail.
