HBAGK Members' Education Series

Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville has a new member-based education series that will feature 3-person expert panels comprised of HBAGK members. The fourth workshop is scheduled for 11:30 AM on August 1 and the topic is Advocacy, Codes & Legislative Update. 

The series will continue on the first Wednesday of each month during lunchtime to accommodate most members’ schedules. There is no fee to attend and lunch will be provided thanks to our series sponsors, Noble Knights Construction Services, Inc.! Future topics will cover Business Marketing & Networking; and Insurance & Workers Compensation.

Scott Davis 
In 1994 Scott was elected to the Knox County, Knoxville legislative body as a County Commissioner where he served until 1998.  At the time, he and his fellow Commissioners oversaw a budget of $500 million. 

Since 1997, Eagle Bend has developed more than forty single family residential subdivisions and apartment sites consisting of nearly 3,000 residences, which makes Eagle Bend one of the largest residential development companies in the State of Tennessee.  Between 2007 and 2016, Eagle Bend’s revenues have exceeded $90 million.  In 2015, Scott was awarded the President’s Award for outstanding service by the Greater Knoxville Home Builder’s Association.  In 2010 Scott was named The Builder of the Year by the Grater Knoxville Home Builder’s Association and he is past President of the Greater Knoxville Home Builder’s Association. 

Presently, Scott serves on the Board of Directors of The Public Building Authority of Knox County/City of Knoxville which manages construction projects and facilities management for Knox County and the City of Knoxville.


Nathan Anderson 
Nathan Anderson grew up in Strawberry Plains, TN.  Upon graduating from high school, he attended Maryville College and graduated with degrees in both Environmental Studies and Political Science.  While at Maryville College he was a Bonner Scholar and was elected the president of the Student Body.
 
After graduating from Maryville College he attended New England School of Law in Boston and graduated with honors, attaining a Juris Doctorate with a focus on a Masters in Business Administration. 
 
Nathan holds numerous certifications including NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certification for geothermal HVAC; as well as the highest accreditation in the industry which is the IGSHPA (International Ground Source Heat Pump Association) installer certification. Nathan was the 2^nd design installer in Tennessee east of Nashville to achieve this honor and the 5^th in the state. 
 
Nathan regularly speaks about energy issues relating to geothermal HVAC at seminars and continuing education opportunities.  He actively advocates for energy efficiency code and statutory issues on the local, state and federal levels working with both lobbyists and directly with elected and appointed officials.


Lauren Goodwin 

Lauren is a Regional Field Representative with NAHB who serves as a resource for executive officers and members in the Southeast.  She was introduced to the industry through Habitat for Humanity.  She lives in Atlanta and loves anything that gives her an excuse to be outside.
