Come out this month to hear South Knoxville's very own, Stephanie Carlson, speak about her rising company: SoKno Sourdough! Born out of one of those attempts at making sourdough bread during the pandemic, and her business has turned into a full-fledged side hustle that continues to grow out of her home kitchen in South Knoxville. Stephanie's business focuses on using the most simple ingredients, starting with just flour, water and salt. She tries to grow many of the toppings offered on focaccia bread (like bell peppers, jalapenos, cilantro, tomatoes, basil, rosemary), and creates her own everything seasoning sourced from the bulk section of Three Rivers in order to reduce her plastic intake that would occur by ordering it in bulk online. All of her items are packaged in unbleached paper or cardboard, no plastic is used in packaging! Come on down to Alliance to hear her speak about some of her sustainability practices she has used while growing her small, local business!
