DESCRIPTION:Region 8 is excited to announce the following continuing educational seminar for Code Enforcement Officials\, Building Contractors and Design Professionals. The course can be submitted for approval for State Agency CEU's in GA\, NC\, and SC\, as well as being acceptable for AIA CES Credits. This course is already approved by the state of TN.\n  \n This class is sponsored by the Home Builders of Southern TN.  \n  \n Registration is available to the first 60 paid applicants and includes lunch and breaks.  Don't hesitate as this class will fill up quickly.\n  \n Location:             Home Builders Association of Southern TN\, 3221 Harrison Pike\, Chattanooga\, TN 37406\n                                                                 \n When:                 October 11\, 2011        Registration 7:30 AM Class 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM\n                        \n Seminar:             Structural Wood Framing Concepts.  This class will cover load calculations in both residential and commercial applications for wood frame construction. Special emphasis will be on residential construction. Major topics will be floor and ceiling loads imposed on the structural members. Roof loads and point loads will also be discussed. The class will cover correct drilling\, notching & boring procedures in floor\, wall and ceiling construction. Installation procedures when engineered products are used will also be discussed. The top ten common structural mistakes will be discussed. The class will be taught by Mr. Ron Corum\, P.E. He is a graduate of the University of Tennessee and has an extensive background in both residential and commercial projects.
