SUMMARY:HBAGK Members' Education Series
DESCRIPTION:Home Builders Association of Greater Knoxville resumes our member-based education series that will feature 3-person expert panels comprised of HBAGK members. The next workshop of 2019 is scheduled for 11:30 AM on August 7 at the HBAGK office and the topic is: Energy Efficiency. \n\n\n\nThe series will continue on the first Wednesday of each month during lunchtime to accommodate most members' schedules. Future topics will cover Clients from Hell\, Sustainability and Green Building\, and Appraisals. \n\n \n\nEddie Sanford\n\nEddie Sanford grew up in East Knoxville\, earned an Eagle Scout rank at age 16 and graduated from Holston High School in 1980. He began working with his father at Motor Products Co. at age 14 and eventually sold the business to a national auto parts retailer. While transitioning from the auto parts industry to the construction industry\, Eddie worked on various construction crews often at minimum wage to hone his skills and to gain a hands-on perspective in preparation of obtaining a general contractor's license. After receiving his license\, Eddie formed GES Custom Remodel\, LLC. in 2006\, a residential general contracting company which quickly developed a niche for custom kitchen and bath remodels. \n\n\n\nWhile growing GES Custom Remodel\, LLC\, and after restoring several older homes\, Eddie developed an interest in the building "envelope" and the science of managing air\, water and moisture. In 2014 Eddie expanded his remodeling business to include "RetroFoam" injection foam for existing homes. Within two years of starting the East Tennessee dealership for RetroFoam Eddie purchased a mobile unit for open-cell and closed-cell spray foam insulation. With these specialized services\, Eddie has helped reduce the energy bills by an average of 20% to 50%. Today they have expanded to sound attenuation of commercial office space\, injection filling of commercial & residential masonry block\, industrial coolers\, metal buildings\, crawl spaces\, bonus rooms\, attics and a wide variety of other insulation projects. \n\n\n\nChip Scarbrough\n\nChip Scarbrough has been in insulation sales for 16 years. He started out selling fiberglass insulation. For the last 4 years he has seen an increase of interest in spray foam insulation. Two years ago he got a great opportunity with Profoam of Tennessee to sell spray foam insulation exclusively. He believes spray foam is by far a superior product to anything else on the market. Profoam of Tennessee is without a doubt on the cutting edge of this technology. They invest in large quantity orders to be able to pass the savings along to the customers. \n\n\n\nRSVP with names of ALL guests to help us plan ? thanks!\n\n \n*Series sponsorships available - HBAGK members may pay a sponsorship fee to cover lunch based on the number of estimated participants or they may cater/prepare lunch in person pending pre-approval. Class attendance in 2018 ranged from 20 - 30 guests. Sponsors will be allowed to speak for 5 minutes and provide handouts\, etc. Company logos can be included on invitation emails and event webpage if received in time.
