SUMMARY:Green Drinks Knoxville's Happy Hour
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Happy Hour filled to the rim with a heavy pour of enviro-centric conversation garnished with your favorite adult beverages.\n\n\n\nThe Topic:\n\n\n\nWe've all come home to a package waiting at the front door. You open the package with anticipation\, only to find that the smallest item is individually wrapped and in a comically oversized box. We are also very happy to have our guest speaker\, Megan Robison\, join us this month to discuss the greatly debated topic of product packaging. Megan is a development engineer for sustainable packaging and recyclable packaging and will help demystify all of the "WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT" questions and teach us about sustainable alternatives.\n\n\n\nMegan is a graduate of Georgia Tech's Chemical Engineering program and moved to Knoxville for a job in 2015. She has since moved back to Atlanta to pursue a career developing sustainable packaging. Her main focuses are compostable/degradable polymer packaging\, films containing recycled content\, recyclable flexible packaging. She is involved in a number of organizations including NEMO (New End Market Opportunities)\, SPC (Sustainable Packaging Coalition)\, and APR (Association of Plastic Recyclers). \n\n\n\nAlong with the many questions we know you can't wait to ask\, Megan will answer the follow:\n\n	How to properly recycle/compost to make sure the material is recoverable\n	What kind of packaging is the best and worst to buy and recycle? Glass\, rigid plastic\, water\, and flexible plastic compared.\n	What should consumers be asking their favorite brands for? Very large brands are in a place now where they are starting to open up to more sustainable packaging if their consumer base wants it. \n	Where sustainable packaging is going in the US and the EU.
